A BEAUTIFUL PARTNERSHIP PATRICIA BOTERO and BOB RICHARDSON A phrase we often hear is that we never know who will walk into our lives nor the impact they may have. This is so true for Patricia and Bob.. Read on to learn more about the importance of that phrase for these two.. At age 10, Bob's family "emigrated" to Miami from Tennessee.. He has been a photographer most of his life starting with a Kodak Instamatic in eighth grade. Years later while in the army in France,he bought a Canon Pellix which he used to photograph the countryside of France and Germany. He learned to develop film during that time and as a result loves black and white photography. Upon returning to the US, he spent 5 years as a wedding photographer,, lived on a sailboat for 8 years and worked for Eastern Airlines.. At the time the digital camera emerged, he bought a Nikon D70 and never looked back.. He was a member of the Kendall Camera Club in Miami. In 2001,,Patricia and her family moved from Colombia to Miami. A major life event inspired her to evaluate her circumstances. During this time of change and discovery she was gifted a Canon camera which ultimately propelled her to again explore photography. She believes her passion for photography has made all the difference in her life by all she has learned and gained. She joined the Kendall Camera Club in Miami... This Milky Way panorama was taken in 2015 by Bob. They named it the $7000 photo! So named as it was the inspiration for Patricia to spend that amount of money to buy a Nikon and three lenses. Together, they have found not only a passion for photography and Nikon but also for travel! Great memories have been made on their 25 trips over the last 6 years from the Galapagos, Costa Rica, Iceland, Alaska to Yellowstone and many other locations all the while learning about their culture, history and economy. They love night photography,,wildlife and landscapes..But Bob has one more passion which is macro photography and high magnification macro photography. Example: His sensor showed the fly 5 times its actual size. Bob then stacked 67 images to arrive at this final image. Amazing! Two years ago, after kayaking on the Ichetucknee Springs in that Florida State Park,, they made the decision to move from their beloved Miami to Jacksonville and did so in only two months..They are very active members of our BPC and known for being great photographers who willingly share their knowledge and expertise with others. Not surprisingly, they were highly involved in the Kendall Camera Club in Miami..From 2014 - 2017, Patricia won awards for Best Photographer in almost all categories plus Best Photographer of the Year.. Awards for Patricia's work continues as a member of BPC having earned through F3C 4 blue, 4 red, 8 yellow, 2 white ribbons plus 2nd place in the year end competition! She says Bob has been her teacher! She seems to be an excellent student! As for Bob, in 2014 he and four others in Homestead, FL who shared a love for state and national parks, founded the South Florida National Parks Camera Club (SFNPCC). Wonderful accomplishments for two inspiring, funny and engaging people. They have enthusiasm for creating wonderful art and have designed a life for themselves with the same zeal and passion. Their fate inspired meeting has brought them both to a comfortable and happy place. The featured photo above is Maroon Bells in the Colorado Rockies.. They speak fondly and proudly of taking the foreground one day and the mountains in the background the following morning at sunrise. Appropriately, both their names are in the watermark. Their smiles tell the sweet story of their partnership. Oh, if Patricia asks if you want to see her "boobies",, take no offense.. This is what she means! A LOVELY REFLECTION
