Brief biography - Married 24 years with 2 sons. The kids rekindled my teenage passion for photography, as I was trying to capture moments in their lives. My key areas of photography are travel (cityscape, architectural, journalistic) and sports (swim, football, soccer, & lacrosse are my favorites). I've been shooting seriously since 2008 and enjoy the community of sharing and learning from fellow photographers.

Short Description of Derek's presentation : Action photos are always exciting, but how do you convey a story through a still image? I'll break down my approach into three straightforward areas of discussion:

1 - The Setup (equipment and settings)

2 - The Approach (what and how to take your images)

3 - The Edit (how to pick your keepers and edit them in a way that conveys emotion)
