  Description of the Presentation: The celestial objects visible in the night sky change with the seasons. In the Northern Hemisphere, the winter is usually considered galaxy season; whereas, nebulae and the Milky Way dominate the sky during the summer months.

  In preparation for our upcoming Milky Way Outing in June, this talk will cover the best techniques for capturing the Milky Way as well as processing the images. Additionally, I will briefly update the group on my continuing journey into the field of Deep Sky Astrophotography:

• New equipment and processing techniques I have implemented
• Recent example images I have taken.

Edgar Menezes Bio

Edgar grew up in India and Kuwait before immigrating to the US. He received his doctorate from Northwestern University and joined Johnson & Johnson as a researcher in medical devices. Designing optical lenses for ophthalmic applications led to an interest in photography. His journey into astrophotography was jump started by a visit to Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona. Besides astrophotography, Edgar’s interests include golf and travel.
